Course Description

This course explores administrative skills that help manage the business affairs of a medical practice through computerized software. The course covers computerized appointment scheduling, patient registration, procedure posting, billing with paper and electronic claims, payment posting, secondary insurance billing, patient billing, and collections.

This is an excellent short-term course for individuals wanting to break into the expanding healthcare field or boost qualifications on their current resumes.

Certificates of attendance will be awarded only to those who attend a minimum of 75% of the class sessions. The certificate will denote proficiency or non-proficiency status. In order to acquire and demonstrate the necessary skills, attendance of the final class is mandatory to receive proficiency status.
